FEES AND CHARGES

POLICIES AND REGULATIONS

SERVICE CONNECTIONS AND/OR INSTALLATION FEES

1. A tapping fee shall be paid by the Customer in the amount applicable at the time of application for service connection depending on the size of a service connection applied for.
2. A reconnection fee shall be paid by the Customer whose service has been disconnected.
3. Disconnected services not applied for reconnection after six months shall be disconnected from the mainline. Re-application after tapping point has been disconnected shall be considered new connection and all tapping fees and charges shall apply.


ILLEGAL CONNECTIONS / FEES AND PENALTIES

1. The following are illegal and subject for fines imposed by the MWD under the Provisions of P.D. 198 as amended and/or MWD rules and regulations and subject to automatic termination of the contract in addition to Criminal and/or Court Action.

a) Illegal tapping                        e) Meter tampering and broken water meter
b) Illegal connection                  f ) Illegal installation & booster pump connection
c) Illegal sub-connection           g) Illegal re-opening of meter
d) Illegal re-selling                     h) Pilferage

Penalties range from a minimum of P2,000.00 to maximum of P6,000.00 in addition to the recovery charges based on MWD formula.

2. That this connection shall only supply exclusively the stated premises. No extension of service shall be allowed without the authority from MWD.

3. That the cost of materials to be used in the repair of the service line from the tapping point shall be charged to the Customer.


METER MAINTENANCE

1. A P10.00 monthly meter maintenance fee shall be charged to concessionaires for the replacement of meter every five years.

2. Defective meter due to normal wear and tear shall be replaced by MWD.

3. The concessionaires shall pay the cost of broken meter if the damage was due to negligence.

MONTHLY CHARGE

1. A service charge for a consumption from zero (0) to ten (10) cubic meters shall be the same for a particular customer class. Consumption above ten cubic meters multiplied by the applicable rate shall constitute the commodity charge. The service charge plus the commodity charge will compose the monthly charge.

2. Pay the bills not later than fifteen (15) days after date of billing at the MWD Office. Otherwise, a surcharge is imposed after the due date. Failure to pay thirty (30) days after the due date shall mean automatic disconnection of service without further notice. Payment in lump sum shall be applied first to bills in arrears, surcharges, expenses and penalties before the current obligation is paid.

3. Bills can no longer be questioned or protested after (30) days from the receipt of bill except in meritorious cases to be determined by the appropriated officer of the MWD and upon written appeal made by the Customer. After this period, the Customer shall have to pay the bill.
